Movie Classifications
All movie classifications are handled by The Office of Film & Literature Classification. For more information please visit their website: www.censorship.govt.nz
GSuitable for a general audience.
PGParental guidance recommended for younger viewers. This means that there may be something in the film, such as violence or sexual themes, which may be offensive to some people.
M Suitable for mature audiences 16 years and over. This means the film contains material, such as violence or sexual content, that could offend some viewers.
R13Restricted to audiences of 13 years or over. It is illegal for someone under this age to view the film.
R15Restricted to audiences of 15 years or over. It is illegal for someone under this age to view the film.
R16 Restricted to audiences of 16 years or over. It is illegal for someone under this age to view the film.
R18 Restricted to audiences of 18 years or over. It is illegal for someone under this age to view the film.
RThis means that there is a special restriction on the film such as "restricted to persons 16 years or over unless accompanied by a parent or guardian". | |
